Midnight Crossing
"Recorded over three nights at the legendary Village Vanguard, Midnight Crossing captures the raw electricity of a band pushing boundaries at 2AM. Each track is a conversation between light and shadow, between what is played and what is left unsaid. This is jazz as it was meant to be heard — intimate, unpredictable, and utterly alive."

The Ensemble
Four cities.
One current.
The ensemble was born not in a rehearsal room but in a series of chance encounters — a late-night session at Ronnie Scott's, a festival afterparty in Montreux, a shared taxi in Copenhagen that turned into a three-hour conversation about Coltrane's later recordings.
What emerged was something rare: a transatlantic dialogue between musicians from London, New York, Paris, and Copenhagen — each carrying the distinct musical DNA of their city, yet united by a shared conviction that jazz is a living, breathing language. Not a museum piece. Not nostalgia. A current.
We don't play together — we listen together. The music happens in the spaces between the notes.— Marcus Webb
Meet the Players

Marcus Webb
Saxophone
A graduate of Juilliard with a tone that critics have called 'liquid midnight.' Marcus spent a decade on the New York scene before crossing the Atlantic, bringing with him the raw energy of Harlem's underground clubs.

Elise Fournier
Piano & Keys
Classically trained at the Conservatoire de Paris, Elise found her voice in the smoky jazz caves of the Left Bank. Her harmonic language bridges Debussy and Monk with effortless grace.

Tobias Lindgren
Trumpet
The Nordic cool of Tobias's playing masks a volcanic intensity. Raised on Scandinavian folk and American hard bop, he creates a sound that is entirely his own — crystalline, searching, and deeply felt.

James Okafor
Bass
The gravitational center of the ensemble. James's walking bass lines carry the weight of tradition while his solo work ventures into uncharted territory, drawing from West African rhythms and British electronic music.
Music as
conversation.
Every performance is a negotiation between structure and freedom. The ensemble arrives with compositions — sketches, really — that provide just enough architecture for the music to stand, and just enough open space for it to breathe, wander, and surprise.
The result is music that feels both composed and spontaneous — like a late-night conversation between old friends who still have the capacity to astonish one another. It is jazz as it was always meant to be: alive, unpredictable, and profoundly human.
Press
A masterclass in restraint and raw emotion — every note lands with the weight of a lifetime lived in the margins of midnight.
